FAQ
Coating questions
What paint brand does Shield Coat Painting use?
Mostly Sherwin-Williams. Our standard exterior repaint is Loxon primer where needed plus two coats of Duration Exterior. Ultra Premium jobs use Emerald Rain Refresh or Emerald Exterior, and cracked stucco gets ConFlex XL elastomeric. We also hold a Dunn-Edwards contractor account and can spec Dunn-Edwards equivalents on request.
What is the best Sherwin-Williams exterior paint?
For most Arizona homes, Emerald Rain Refresh and Emerald Exterior are Sherwin-Williams’ top finishes. Emerald Rain Refresh adds self-cleaning technology that sheds dirt when it rains. On stucco with a lot of cracking, an elastomeric like ConFlex XL is usually the better choice.
Do I need elastomeric paint on stucco?
Not always. Elastomeric coatings like ConFlex XL are worth it on stucco with many hairline cracks or heavy sun exposure. On sound stucco, a premium acrylic like Duration or Emerald usually looks better and costs less. We check on the walkthrough and tell you honestly.
Will my estimate list the exact products?
Yes. Every Shield Coat estimate names the primer, finish, sheen and number of coats for each surface, so you can compare bids apples to apples.
